Cans (Drink cans and food cans)
How To Dispose: In your blue bin or at local Recycle Points such as those at supermarkets, car parks.
Details and restrictions: Cans should be free from food waste before recycling.
Car Parts
How To Dispose: Breakers yards and scrap metal dealers only
Details and restrictions: Car parts are NOT accepted at the Household Waste recycling Centres. Normally old car parts will be disposed of as part of the service by the garage that repairs your car.
Cardboard (clean only!)
How To Dispose: In your blue bin or at the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Retford and Worksop
Details and restrictions: Takeaway Pizza boxes are not allowed in your blue bin due to food contamination. Please dispose of these in your green bin.
Carpets and Rugs
How To Dispose: If in good condition, these items can be donated to a charity or furniture re-use group. If the items are no longer in good condition they can be taken to Retford or Worksop Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Details and restrictions: None
Carrier Bags
How To Dispose: A number of supermarkets now recycle carrier bags.
Details and restrictions: Use re-usable shopping bags or re-use your old carrier bags as liners for rubbish bins.
Cassette Tapes
How To Dispose: In your green bin.
Details and restrictions: None
Catalogues
How To Dispose: These can be placed in your blue bin or taken to the bring sites that have paper banks located in them. They can also be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Details and restrictions: Please remember not to put your paper inside plastic carrier bags before you put into your blue bin. Plastic carrier bags contaminate the recycling process.
CDs
How To Dispose: If your CDs are in good condition, charity shops may accept them otherwise they can go in your green bin.

Cereal Boxes
How To Dispose: These can be placed in your blue bin.
Details and restrictions: None
Chemicals
How To Dispose: Unwanted household chemicals can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Retford and Worksop
Details and restrictions: None
Christmas Trees
How To Dispose: These can be disposed of at the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Retford and Worksop.
Details and restrictions: Most trees will be made into woodchips that can be used as mulch. Alternatively, purchase a tree with a root so that it can be planted in the garden and used the following year or purchase an artificial tree that can be used re-used for many years.
Clothing
How To Dispose: Take to the textile bank or Household Waste Recycling Centre. Textiles can also be taken to Charity Shops.
Details and restrictions: Textiles that cannot be sold may be re-spun to make new items or made into cleaning cloths.
Composting
How To Dispose: Home compost or take to the Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Details and restrictions: Do not put diseased plants into any compost mixture because it could spread to farmers crops through the compost.
Computers
How To Dispose: You can take most unwanted electrical items from your home to the nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Details and restrictions: No electrical items should be placed in your wheeled bins.
Cooking Oil
How To Dispose: Cooking oil can be recycled at Worksop Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Details and restrictions: None
Crisp tubes
How To Dispose: At the following bring sites: Town Hall, Scrooby Road, Harworth; New Street Car Park, Retford; Car Park, Prospect Precinct, Worksop.
Details and restrictions: Pringles and other paper containers with metal ends can now be recycled with food & drink cartons.
Crockery
How To Dispose: You can donate unbroken crockery (e.g. mugs, plates etc) to your local charity shop, otherwise place it in your green bin.
Details and restrictions: Broken pieces of crockery and china can be placed at the bottom of plant pots to help drainage. However, if you want to dispose of broken pieces of crockery, please wrap it in newspaper and place in your green bin.
