Bassetlaw District Council tenants, leaseholders and other stakeholders have two weeks remaining to take part in consultation on a new draft Housing Repairs Policy.
The proposals aim to improve the delivery of repairs and maintenance services, ensuring repairs are right first time, clearly setting out who is responsible for specific repair and maintenance issues, and enabling the council to plan work in a more efficient and effective way.
Information and survey forms have been sent to all tenants, giving them the opportunity to share their views on the proposed changes.
Cllr Lynne Schuller, Cabinet Member for Housing and Estates, said: “There are two weeks left for our tenants to get involved in this consultation about these proposed changes to our Housing Policy Repairs.
“I would encourage anyone who has not yet taken part to share their views, which will help us make informed decisions before the draft policy is presented to Cabinet in the summer”.
The consultation opened on 20th April and is open until Sunday 31st May. Feedback received will be considered and reflected in the draft policy ahead of it being presented to Cabinet in July 2026 before going to Full Council for approval, with adoption proposed in September 2026.
The draft Housing Repairs Policy also continues to ensure the council, as a landlord, is meeting its statutory and regulatory obligations of the Regulator of Social Housing’s Consumer Standards.
