A Family Art Funday is coming to Worksop next month, bringing FREE creative and fun activities for children of all ages.
It has been organised by the working group behind Discover Worksop, featuring members from Bassetlaw District Council, East Midlands Chamber and local businesses including Born Agency, House of Elegance, Café Neo, and Eyres.
Families are being invited to Bridge Street on Saturday 8th August between 10am and 2pm, to take part in exciting arts and craft activities. The event includes a live graffiti workshop, as well as an arts and crafts workshop delivered by the Harley Foundation.
Children can become their favourite animal or character with free face painting and enjoy a Toy Story inspired performance by Zebra Dance Studios base in Worksop. Between 10am and 1pm, Jessie and Woody from Toy Story will be in town to meet and greet families.
Cllr Steve Scotthorne, Cabinet Member for Identity and Place, said: “We are pleased to be bringing back another free art event to Worksop Town Centre this summer building on the success of last year’s Art Works-op event.
“It’s a great opportunity to support local businesses, with events like this helping to bring people together and encourage more families to visit, shop and spend time here.”
The Discover Worksop working group are delivering this event as part of the Worksop Business Forum, and activities are funded by the Worksop Charter Trustees. The event is supported by Bassetlaw District Council, DB Signs Associates Ltd, East Midlands Chamber, the Harley Foundation and Zebra Dance Studios.
It is hoped it will help support local businesses by bringing in more visitors to the town.
