The Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan January 2020 included strategic policies and proposed site allocations and was consulted on in January-February 2020. Over 700 responses were received, to view a summary of the January 2020 consultation responses. From the previous consultation the representations and responses received have been considered and, where appropriate, informed the latest version of the Local Plan. As per the Statement of Community Involvement the publication of the updated Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan November 2020 gives the public and other interested parties the opportunity to comment on the next stage in the development of the new local plan. 

The Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan November 2020 includes strategic policies that are designed to guide development as well as updated proposed site allocations for employment and housing opportunities.

The Government encourage local authorities to continue producing Local Plans during the current Covid-19 restrictions, as long as consultation is undertaken safely and appropriately, and provisions are put in place to enable community engagement. Therefore, the Council will consult all interested parties on the Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan, which includes proposed strategic policies for the period 2018 to 2037, in accordance with Regulation 18 of The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) 2012. The Council welcomes views and comments on the content and direction of this document in order to help shape the development of the new Local Plan for Bassetlaw. The consultation took place between 25 November 2020 and 5pm 20 January 2021.

Upon adoption, the Bassetlaw Plan will replace the 2011 Core Strategy & Development Management Policies Development Plan Document.
