Harworth & Bircotes Neighbourhood Plan

Overview

The Harworth and Bircotes Neighbourhood Plan was formally 'made' by Bassetlaw District Council following the referendum held on 3 December 2015. The Neighbourhood Plan forms part of the statutory Local Development Plan for Bassetlaw and shall be used when either applying for planning permission or determining planning applications within the Neighbourhood Area.

Work to review the Neighbourhood Plan commenced in autumn 2023, and consultation on the Pre-Submission Draft commenced in May 2025, as detailed below.

Development Stages and Supporting Documents

Neighbourhood plans progress through various stages between designation and adoption. The progress of the Harworth & Bircotes Neighbourhood Plan, and all supporting documents, is detailed below, with the most recent stage addressed first.

Pre-Submission Draft stage (May - June 2025)

In accordance with Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, the Pre-Submission Draft of the Harworth & Bircotes Neighbourhood Plan is currently the subject of public and stakeholder consultation. The consultation runs from Tuesday 6 May until Tuesday 24 June 2025. The Plan and supporting documents are available from the Town Council website, and also below:

Two consultation events are due to be held, providing the opportunity to view the Plan and supporting documents, and discuss the contents with the team that developed it.

• Tuesday 10 June 2025, 4 until 8 PM, Harworth & Bircotes Town Hall, Scrooby Road, DN11 8JN
• Saturday 14 June 2025, 11 AM until 2 PM, The Pavilion, Scrooby Road, DN11 8JT

Comments on the Plan are welcomed, with a view to refining it ahead of submission, and should be sent to enquiries@harworthandbircotestowncouncil.org.uk. A consultation response form will also be available at the drop-in events.
