Visitors to Worksop can get into the Christmas spirit over the next few weekends with some free festive events that are taking place in the town centre.
The seasonally themed activities get underway on Saturday 6th December between 12pm and 2pm with live music from the Rock Choir, along with a meet and greet with The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who, bringing festive mischief and cheer.
The following weekend, make sure that your letters and lists are ready as Santa and his sleigh will be making a stop at Bridge Place on Saturday 13th December between 10am and 2pm. Families can also make their own Reindeer food to take home and there’s free face painting for all ages.
The festivities wrap up on Saturday 20th December as the Worksop Miners Welfare Band will be performing Christmas Carols and festive favourites between 10am and 12noon.
Cllr Steve Scotthorne, Cabinet Member for Identity and Place said: “Christmas in Worksop is a time for people to come together, celebrate our town, and enjoy everything that makes this community special.
“This year’s line-up offers something for everyone, and we can’t wait to welcome families into the town centre throughout December. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to support our brilliant local businesses. So, while you’re enjoying the festivities, why not shop local and help to make this Christmas even more special.”
These activities are delivered in partnership with Discover Worksop, the Charter Trustees, and the Worksop Business Forum. They are supported by funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and North Notts BID Ltd.
For those visitors who plan to extend their stay in the town centre, the Council continues to offer free parking in all its car parks after 1pm.
