Job Purpose: To provide a full range of building surveying functions and complex projects to include the provision of disabled adaptations.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work in full compliance and keep up to date with appropriate legislation, building regulations and planning requirements relevant to your areas of responsibility, particularly in relation to project designs, detailing work specifications and the CDM Regulations.
- To manage, schedule and carry out detailed site, building and stock condition surveys, to enable the preparation of drawings (CAD), work schedules, specifications, contract and tender documentation and quotations for works specific to the Housing Capital Investment Programme
- To assess the suitability of properties for minor and major adaptations including working with Occupational Therapists and other Health professionals to determine and oversee the implementation of the most appropriate adaptation.
- To manage the performance and progress of relevant major works programmes against allocated budgets and undertake corrective action as and when necessary to ensure programme delivery.
- To assist in co-ordinating the preparation of drawings, specifications, tender documentation, contract documentation, quotations, tenders and programmes of work for all contracts.
- To co-ordinate data gathering and input of stock condition and programme data into Keystone and other relevant IT systems and assist in the preparation and development of the Housing Capital Investment Programme, Stock Investment Strategy and HRA Business Plan.
The post holder is required to carry out any other duties appropriate for the grade and responsibility level of the post.
The post holder will be required to comply with relevant legislation and in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures.
The post holder will be employed under the NJC Conditions of Service for Local Government Services.
