Independent living in a community setting
The Council looks after both the properties and residents of all of the Independent Living Centres.
Independent Living Centres can be found in Worksop, Retford, Harworth and Misterton. One centre provides
Extra Care facilities for those who need additional support to live independent lives. The Council's
Supported Housing Team provide a wealth of experience in dealing with older people and we are confident that our Independent Living Centres give you the perfect opportunity to enjoy your retirement.
24-hour peace of mind
We pride ourselves on providing customers with a warm, safe and comfortable environment. All of the centres have a secure door entry system and the council take care of the building maintenance, 24-hours a day. Our Supported Housing Team provides you with a weekday visit and access to a 24-hour contact centre that will get you help in an emergency. The team are also available to give advice and offer you a helping hand if you need it. Quite simply our Independent Living Centres are designed to give you and your family peace of mind.

Independence
Keeping your independence is important to us. Each flat has its own front door to allow you and your visitors to come and go as you like. You’re free to decorate and furnish your new home as you wish to make it as comfortable as possible.
You will have an opportunity to make new friends amongst your neighbours and each Independent Living Centre has its own programme of resident activities.

Priory Court is Bassetlaw District Council’s new state-of-the-art Independent Living Centre, which features a total of 52 one and two bedroomed apartments that are available to tenants over the age of 60.
Extra Care services will be provided by Nottinghamshire County Council in 37 apartments, with a further 15 apartments available to prospective tenants through Bassetlaw District Council’s Housing Service
Facilities
Each apartment features:
- Fully-Fitted Kitchen, including an electric cooker, hob and extractor fan
- Level access bathroom with shower facilities
- Full central heating with individual adjustable controls
- Waterproof floor coverings in the kitchen and bathroom
- State-of-the-art warden aided technology
- Each apartment is fitted with individual Electricity and Water Meters
In addition, Priory Court boasts a number of impressive communal facilities and safety features that include:

Extra Care
Extra Care offers a real alternative to long-term care as it supports older people with social care needs to live as independently as possible in their own home.
Each apartment has been designed to be accessible for older adults and feature a level access shower, accessible kitchens and wheelchair turning circles. The onsite care team support residents in Extra Care apartments to meet their daily living needs, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are also able to respond to care emergencies or unplanned care needs as quickly as possible.
