Bassetlaw District Council is part of the Sheffield City Region Launchpad programme. Launchpad is the Sheffield City Region Growth Hub’s key business support programme for new business. Financially supported by the European Regional Development Fund and delivered by local authorities within the Sheffield City Region and the Prince’s Trust, the programme provides free help and support to budding entrepreneurs in the City Region who are thinking of starting their own business, or have started trading within the last two years.

Relocating a Business
Bassetlaw is located in North Nottinghamshire, close to the vibrant cities of Sheffield (to the North) and Nottingham (to the south).
Both the M1 and A1 pass through our area and the East Coast Mainline guarantees regular trains to London or north to Yorkshire and beyond. Bassetlaw’s 116,839 mid - year population estimate 2018, is spread across 63,687 hectares of vast open countryside, forests and parklands.
Bassetlaw enjoys a reputation, as a pleasant place to live, work and play with a lower cost of living is lower than in nearby cities.
The District has two main population centres, the market towns of Worksop and Retford, which offer a wealth of shopping, leisure and entertainment facilities.
