Grants to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Organisations

• Provide a single point of access for advice and information to the Bassetlaw community, through a variety of channels including online, via telephone and face to face
• Provide particular support regarding the digital agenda for the more vulnerable clients
• Provide the Advice Service to 186 clients across the District
• Provide particular support regarding the digital agenda for more vulnerable and isolated clients
• Full integration with key partners throughout a range of networks, to include signposting via the North Notts Support Partnership

CAB – General Advice Service

• Continue provision and development of existing services
• Development of Volunteers’ knowledge, skills and experience, specifically around welfare reform
• Develop the strategic direction of the BCAB in line with the needs of the groups/individuals accessing the services
• Develop successful networking and partnership specifically regarding anti-poverty, financial inclusion/capability, North Notts Support Partnership and migrant workers
• Continued provision of advice and support, accessible at a local level

Take an active role in the work of the Bassetlaw Community Partnership

• Engage, support and build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector in Bassetlaw e.g. through funding advice, governance support and volunteer brokerage
• Develop and support an inclusive Community Engagement Forum – which is at present being delivered through a series of Big Breakfast events that are relevant and timely
• Maintain a comprehensive database of VCS organisations in Bassetlaw
• Assist the Council with specific consultations with the VCS and to disseminate information to the sector on behalf of the Council.

Continuation of core services to include:

• Continued provision of the Food Bank service
• Provision of a signposting service to emergency aid parcels and support networks
• Build community cohesion throughout Bassetlaw
• Continue to build the close working relationship with local schools, academies and young person’s groups across Bassetlaw to educate children about food poverty
• Continue to work collaboratively with partners in the public, statutory and third sectors

Contribution towards the costs of employing a rural funding officer  who can provide assistance to rural community groups on project development and potential funding sources. Assistance with preparation of business cases and applications.
