S.A.N.D sports club explained

The S.A.N.D Sports club is for young people aged 8 years to 18 years and takes place on a Monday between 6.00pm and 7.00pm at Worksop college sports hall. The Sand Club also offers Play with a Purpose Swimming lesson on a Thursday evening starting at 6.00pm at Bircotes Leisure Centre.

The S.A.N.D Sports club offers the opportunity to increase the number of young people actively involved in sports at a level appropriate to them and focuses on promoting the health and well being of all individuals. The sports sessions comprise of Boccia, Zone Hockey, Badminton, Swimming, Kwik Cricket, Basketball, Football, S.A.Q, T Ball, Table Top Games and Social Activities to name just a few.

The S.A.N.D clubs aim and philosophy is to provide out of school hours, sporting and learning opportunities for pupils in special schools. We also aim to focus on and encourage abilities of young people with additional needs attending mainstream schools.

We welcome parents/Carers to all our S.A.N.D sports club sessions and value your support.

How much are the sessions?

S.A.N.D. at Worksop College, first session is free then a voluntary donation of £4.00 for each session. (Term Time only)

Play With A Purpose Swimming Lessons

The Play with a purpose SAND swimming lessons at Bircotes Leisure Centre is facilitated by B.P.L (Barnsley Premiership leisure) on a Thursday evening 6:00pm- 6:40pm beginners, 6:45pm-7:30pm intermediate lane swimming.

SANDance

SANDance contemporary dance and choreography is a new project funded by Inspire Youth Arts Nottinghamshire and takes place at Outwood Academy Valley school Worksop on a Wednesday evening 6.00pm -7.30pm, (Term time only). These sessions are free to attend.
