Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan Focussed Consultation June 2021

The Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan Focussed Consultation is open from the 9 June 2021 and closes at 5pm on the 21 July 2021.

The Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan November 2020 included strategic policies and proposed site allocations and was consulted on in November 2020-January 2021. 

Over 800 responses were received, and these representations and responses have been considered and, where appropriate, have informed changes to several of the policies contained within the Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan. The November 2020 consultation responses which relate to the policies in the focussed document have been responded to and are available to view. As per the Statement of Community Involvement the publication of the updated policies in the focussed Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan June 2021 gives the public and other interested parties the opportunity to comment on the next stage in the development of the new local plan. 

The policies contained in the focussed Local Plan Document are:

  • ST6 Worksop Central
  • ST11 Existing Employment
  • ST14 Town Centres, Local Centres, Local Shops and Services
  • ST15 Management of Town Centre
  • Policy 29 HS13 Ordsall South
  • ST54 Flood Risk and Drainage
  • ST56 Transport Infrastructure and Improvements
  • ST58 Safeguarded Land
  • ST60 Provision and Delivery of Infrastructure  

These policies will be contained within the future Bassetlaw Local Plan and are designed to guide development as well as proposing site allocations for housing opportunities.

The Government has encouraged local authorities to continue producing Local Plans during the recent Covid-19 restrictions, as long as consultations are undertaken safely and appropriately, and provisions are put in place to enable community engagement. Therefore, the Council will consult all interested parties on the Focussed Draft Bassetlaw Local Plan document, in accordance with Regulation 18 of The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) 2012. The Council welcomes views and comments on the content and direction of this document in order to help shape the development of the new Local Plan for Bassetlaw. The consultation commenced on the 9 June 2021 and will end at 5pm on the 21 July 2021.

Upon adoption, the Bassetlaw Plan will replace the 2011 Core Strategy & Development Management Policies Development Plan Document.
