What are you doing to tackle climate change?

The Local Plan includes various measures to help tackle climate change, the biggest of which is to require all new development to contribute towards the planting of new trees at four new community woodlands across the District. We are also requiring electric vehicle charging points in new residential and commercial developments, supporting renewable energy schemes, the use of sustainable design and requiring all larger developments to show how the majority of trips can be made by walking, cycling or public transport.

The Plan identifies the Former High Marnham Power Station site as a renewable energy and low carbon technology sector hub. Its re-use will focus on the site becoming a net exporter of renewable energy into the national grid.
