Cadent Gas plans to develop a new underground hydrogen pipeline from the Humber through Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. The pipeline plans to transport hydrogen to supply industry at existing sites.
This project is cross border with the pipeline being within North Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council, West Lindsey District Council, Bassetlaw District Council and Newark & Sherwood District Council and a connection being via the former Marnham Power Station site, in Bassetlaw.
Scoping Report
The scoping report for the H2East Pipeline: Humber to Nottinghamshire was accepted by the Planning Inspectorate on the 13 April 2026. The application is expected to be submitted in December 2028.
Non-Statutory Consultation
Cadent Gas held a non-statutory consultation from 3 March to 14 April 2026 and was extended to 14 May 2026. It gave more information about the proposed development, its proposed route, as well as the search areas for Hydrogen Above Ground Installations.
