Under the new plan-making system, Local Planning Authorities are required to prepare and maintain a Local Plan Timetable which must be kept up to date. The Council has a deadline of 30 June 2026 to publish the Timetable.

The timetable will include key milestones, including consultation periods when stakeholders and the communities can engage with the plan-making process. The Timetable will also set out dates for ‘Gateways’ which are a new requirement of the plan-making process, as well as when the Council expects to be able to submit the Local Plan Review and all associated supporting documents for Examination, and adoption.
The Timetable replaces the Local Development Scheme.
The Timetable is required to be published on the Council’s website before or at the same time as the publication of the Notice of Intention to Commence Local Plan.
The timetable will be updated as work on the Local Plan review progresses.
