New inclusive and accessible furniture has been installed at Clarborough and Welham Parish Pastures thanks to a £700 Community Grant from a Bassetlaw District Councillor.
A brand-new picnic table, with integrated wheelchair-accessible seating is now in place, offering wheelchair users greater opportunity to enjoy the Parish Pastures, which were developed and continue to be maintained by the Parish Council.
Phil Gibson, Chair of Clarborough and Welham Parish Council, said: “We’re delighted to see the installation of the new accessible picnic table at the Parish Pastures. This improvement means wheelchair users can now enjoy the space more fully, helping to ensure the Pastures remain a welcoming and inclusive area for everyone in our community. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Cllr Fraser McFarland for his generous grant support, which has helped make this enhancement possible.”
Cllr Fraser McFarland, Ward Member for Clayworth, added: “I’m really pleased to support this project, which helps make the Parish Pastures more accessible for everyone in our community. The new picnic table will ensure wheelchair users can enjoy the space alongside friends and family, reinforcing the Pastures as an inclusive place for residents to relax and spend time outdoors. It’s great to see the Parish Council continuing to develop the area for the benefit of local people.”
