Worksop Town Centre businesses are getting the chance to bid for grant funding through the Pride in Place Programme to help reduce vacancy rates, improve shop frontages and provide business support.
The Worksop Together board, working in partnership with the council, has launched three schemes, the High Street Shop Fit Out Grant, Shop Frontage Grant and Business Support Grant.
The funding, originally announced under the Government’s Long Term Plan for Towns and now retained through the Pride in Place programme, has been secured following the submission of a ten-year vision and a four-year regeneration plan by the board.
What makes this plan particularly important is that it has been shaped directly by the priorities of our community. Through consultation and engagement with residents, businesses and neighbourhoods across Worksop, local voices have played a central role in defining the future of the town.

Elsewhere, we continue to tackle anti-social behaviour involving vehicles across the district.
Alongside our work with Nottinghamshire Police to address dangerous driving on the A57, we have introduced a Nuisance Vehicle Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO).
This will target behaviours such as excessive horn use, loud music, performing stunts, and gatherings that cause public nuisance. The scheme follows public consultation, which showed strong support from residents. Those found in breach of the order could face a fine or prosecution.
Finally, letters have been going out to households across the district to let you know more about your kerbside glass recycling collection dates and service.
Alongside this you are now able to recycle even more items in your blue bin under ‘simpler recycling’. Residents will now be able to place additional items in their blue bins, including clean foil and metal food trays, plastic trays and tubes, cartons and Tetra Pak, alongside existing materials such as paper, card, plastic bottles, pots, tubs, tins, cans and aerosols.
To support you with this we will be launching a new mobile app which will provide you with key information on things like bin collection days based on where you live, what can be recycled and where, as well as live updates on any disruptions to your collections.
