More grants to boost arts, heritage and cultural and creative activities

Grants of up to £5,000 to support arts, heritage, cultural and creative projects in Bassetlaw have been announced by Bassetlaw District Council.

The Arts and Heritage Grant programme, which is part of the latest Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund, is offering charities, groups and organisations, delivering projects to residents in the district, the chance to apply for a share of just over £65,000.

Previous arts and heritage grants in the district have supported 19 projects: an Illuminate parade in Retford: a sculpture celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, and creative therapies for people fighting cancer.

Cllr Steve Scotthorne, Cabinet Member for Identity and Place said: “This latest round of funding is a great opportunity for groups and communities across the district to develop new and exciting projects.

“We look forward to seeing what ideas come forward as part of work to foster a sense of local pride and belonging across a wide range of activities.”

The application period for this funding will end at 12noon on Friday 6th June.
