Street collections - Street collections

A collection of money or sale of articles for the benefit of charitable or other purposes would require a Permit. A Permit will be required only where the collection will take place in any street or public place. A Street Collection Permit would not therefore be required for a collection to be held, for example, inside a shop, a public house, in the foyer of a cinema or theatre.

It is the District Council’s Policy, under Finance Sub-Committee 10th June, 1992, (now Licensing Committee):-

Street Collections/Flag Days be authorised to take place on Saturdays only, collections on other days of the week be authorised only in exceptional circumstances or in consultation with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of this Sub-Committee.

CLOTHES AID (SERVICES) LTD collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION an organization which was formed in the UK in 1986 to grant life changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. To date Make a Wish has transformed the lives of more than 12,000 seriously ill children by turning their One Time Wish into reality. (Home Office Exempt).

Sunday 27th January 2019 - Tuesday 31st December 2019
RECYCLING CLOTHES COMPANY (RCC) collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of AGAINST BREAST CANCER to fund ground breaking research to improve detection and increase survival after breast cancer diagnosis and focusing on new ways that could help doctors identify and treat secondary breast cancer earlier, faster and more effectively. (Home Office Exempt).

Saturday 1st June 2019 - Monday 1st June 2020
SOS CLOTHES collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of TREE OF HOPE which is a crowdfunding charity that helps children and young people with a disability or illness by supporting their families to raise the money they need to pay for specialist care that is not freely available through the UK healthcare care system. Tree of Hope supports families to fundraise towards these costs. (Home Office Exempt).

CLOTHES AID collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of NSPCC, the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK by helping children who have been abused, rebuilding their lives and by protecting those at risk by demanding that Laws are changed and actions taken to better protect them. (Home Office Exempt).

Monday 8th July 2019 - Saturday 13th July 2019
UNICARE LTD collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of COPING WITH CANCER NORTH EAST in order to provide emotional support, practical help and information to the cancer community at times when it is most needed, at diagnosis, during treatment and in end of life situations. To the wider cancer community it offers telephone support, counselling and information.

Monday 22nd July 2019 - Saturday 27th July 2019
CLOTHES AID collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of CANCER SUPPORT UK in order to provide practical and emotional support to people living with cancer, both during and after the treatment period. They support people with all kinds of cancer across the UK by encouragement and emotional support and provide Cancer Kits that include a range of practical items for adults and children currently experiencing cancer.
