Street collections - Street collections

A collection of money or sale of articles for the benefit of charitable or other purposes would require a Permit. A Permit will be required only where the collection will take place in any street or public place. A Street Collection Permit would not therefore be required for a collection to be held, for example, inside a shop, a public house, in the foyer of a cinema or theatre.

It is the District Council’s Policy, under Finance Sub-Committee 10th June, 1992, (now Licensing Committee):-

Street Collections/Flag Days be authorised to take place on Saturdays only, collections on other days of the week be authorised only in exceptional circumstances or in consultation with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of this Sub-Committee.

Wednesday 1st April 2020 – Thursday 30th April 2020

SHELTER will be collecting throughout Bassetlaw on the above dates. Shelter are a charity who help millions of people a year who are struggling with bad housing or homelessness. Shelter would appreciate donations from those who support their work and look to have more people join their campaign so that no one is alone in these situations. (Home Office Exempt).

Thursday 2nd April 2020 – Tuesday 30th March 2021

AGE UK will be collecting throughout Bassetlaw as above, operating a combination of 6 and 8 week collection cycle. The first collection cycle will commence on Thursday 2nd April. Collections are solely of donated, second hand goods that are sold through the Age UK charity shop network. Age UK collectors will be undertaking collection of donated clothing, accessories, household items, books, bric a brac all for the purposes of reuse and recycle. (Home Office Exempt).

Monday 6th April 2020 – Friday 10th April 2020

UNICARE LTD will be collecting on behalf of YORKSHIRE CHILDREN`S TRUST on the above dates. The team at Yorkshire Children`s Trust work closely with parents, medical professionals and social workers to offer emotional and financial support to families with long term sick and disabled children. The financial support can help fund essential items such as wheelchairs, specialist car seats, even technology which is beneficial for a child's learning needs. The charity have a holiday home on the East Coast of Yorkshire with one on one person centred counselling and play therapies.

RECYCLING AND MANAGEMENT SERVICES LTD on behalf of BEADS OF COURAGE UK. Beads of Courage UK (formerly Be Child Cancer Aware) are a charity that work with young Children, Teenagers and Adults living with cancer. The charity aims to raise awareness throughout their campaign of Cancer in Children. You can help support the charity by donating and campaigning.

Monday 20th April 2020 – Friday 24th April 2020

UNICARE LTD will be collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of COPING WITH CANCER NORTH EAST. The charity fundraises through charity bag collections, which provides income for delivering our services for cancer patients, these include person centred care as well as support for families.

Thursday 23rd April 2020

CHILD AND TEENAGE CANCER AND LEUKAEMIA FOUNDATION (CTCLF) will be collecting throughout Bassetlaw in order to make donations and grants to organisations promoting research into cancer in children and teenagers. CTCLF also provide services for children with cancer and support research into causes, symptoms and treatments of cancer.

Friday 1st November 2019 – Saturday 31st October 2020

BYRONSWELL LTD on behalf of SAMUEL`S CHARITY throughout Bassetlaw. Samuel`s Charity is a small national charity helping children with serious and terminal conditions through supplying equipment, entertainment equipment and improvements to children`s wards across the UK. The monies raised through partnership will help continue the work of Samuel, the son of the Member Trustee, before he sadly passed away.

Friday 1st November 2019 – Saturday 31st October 2020

CLOTHES AID LTD on behalf of PDSA (The People`s Dispensary for Sick Animals). Clothes Aid will be collecting throughout Bassetlaw to collect waste textiles for the purpose of recycling, all that is obtained from collection will go to PDSA. (Home Office Exempt).

Wednesday 1st January 2020 – Thursday 31st December 2020

CLOTHES AID LTD will be collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION to make collections in aid of the charity and to raise awareness of the work done by Make a Wish Foundation. (Home Office Exempt).

Saturday 1st June 2019 - Monday 1st June 2020

SOS CLOTHES collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of TREE OF HOPE which is a crowdfunding charity that helps children and young people with a disability or illness by supporting their families to raise the money they need to pay for specialist care that is not freely available through the UK healthcare care system.  Tree of Hope supports families to fundraise towards these costs. (Home Office Exempt).

Monday 1st July 2019 - Tuesday 30th June 2020

CLOTHES AID collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of NSPCC, the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK by helping children who have been abused, rebuilding their lives and by protecting those at risk by demanding that Laws are changed and actions taken to better protect them. (Home Office Exempt).
