Street collections - Street collections

A collection of money or sale of articles for the benefit of charitable or other purposes would require a Permit. A Permit will be required only where the collection will take place in any street or public place. A Street Collection Permit would not therefore be required for a collection to be held, for example, inside a shop, a public house, in the foyer of a cinema or theatre.

It is the District Council’s Policy, under Finance Sub-Committee 10th June, 1992, (now Licensing Committee):-

Street Collections/Flag Days be authorised to take place on Saturdays only, collections on other days of the week be authorised only in exceptional circumstances or in consultation with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of this Sub-Committee.

CLOTHES AID (SERVICES) LTD collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION an organisation which was formed in the UK in 1986 to grant life changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. To date Make a Wish has transformed the lives of more than 12,000 seriously ill children by turning their One Time Wish into reality. (Home Office Exempt).

RECYCLING CLOTHES COMPANY (RCC) collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of AGAINST BREAST CANCER to fund ground breaking research to improve detection and increase survival after breast cancer diagnosis, focusing on new ways that could help doctors identify and treat secondary breast cancer earlier, faster and more effectively. (Home Office Exempt).

RECYCLE PROLINE LTD collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of CANCER RESEARCH & GENETICS UK who wish to collect second hand clothing and shoes for the purposes of re-sale so as to raise funds.

SOS CLOTHES collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of TREE OF HOPE which is a crowdfunding charity that helps children and young people with a disability or illness by supporting their families to raise the money they need to pay for specialist care that is not freely available through the UK healthcare care system. Tree of Hope supports families to fundraise towards these costs. (Home Office Exempt).

CLOTHES AID collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of NSPCC, the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK by helping children who have been abused, rebuilding their lives and by protecting those at risk by demanding that Laws are changed and actions taken to better protect them. (Home Office Exempt).

Friday 1st November 2019 – Saturday 31st October 2020
BYRONSWELL LTD on behalf of SAMUEL`S CHARITY throughout Bassetlaw. Samuel`s Charity is a small national charity helping children with serious and terminal conditions through supplying equipment, entertainment equipment and improvements to children`s wards across the UK. The monies raised through partnership will help continue the work of Samuel, the son of the Member Trustee, before he sadly passed away.

Friday 1st November 2019 – Saturday 31st October 2020
CLOTHES AID LTD on behalf of PDSA (The People`s Dispensary for Sick Animals). Clothes Aid will be collecting throughout Bassetlaw to collect waste textiles for the purpose of recycling, all that is obtained from collection will go to PDSA. (Home Office Exempt).

Wednesday 20th November 2019 – Tuesday 24th December 2019
NORTH NOTTS LIONS CLUB collecting throughout Bassetlaw to continue to support Local Communities, Societies and Individuals. This year the North Notts Lions Club celebrated their 50th Anniversary congratulating their commitment and ongoing charitable work, having provided donations to village halls and many schools throughout the area. This has benefited local communities in terms of creating positive environments for all ages.

Sunday 1st December 2019 – Saturday 21st December 2019
RETFORD LIONS CLUB who are collecting throughout Retford, Clarborough, Hayton, Tuxford, East Markham and Elkesley. Retford Lions are best known for their activities at Christmas time, bringing Santa to doorsteps and regularly supporting services in Local Communities.

WORKSOP LIONS CLUB collecting throughout Bassetlaw in order to help contribute to the Local Community and to support the youth groups within the local area.

Monday 2nd December 2019 – Sunday 8th December 2019
AUDOSTA LTD on behalf of WOODLANDS CANCER CARE LTD, collecting throughout Bassetlaw to support cancer patients and their families. The charity are looking to collect used and unwanted clothing to make funds that will go towards the growth of the Charity.

VILLAGERS on behalf of LINCOLNSHIRE AND NOTTINGHAMSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE, who will be Carol Singing in order to make donations for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Services.

TICKHILL AND DISTRICT LIONS CLUB collecting throughout Bassetlaw. Proceeds of collection will be donated to numerous worthwhile charities including charities at both a Local and National level. As well as this, Tickhill and District Lions also look to donate and help with International Appeals and Disasters.

Monday 16th December 2019 – Sunday 22nd December 2019
CAPLL LTD on behalf of BATTERSEA DOGS AND CATS HOMES, a charity that receives no government funding for the running of the home meaning that the charity rely entirely on support and generosity. The purpose of collection is to help recruit valuable donors to Battersea as well as to generate a high level of long term support for the animals in the home. The main aim of this is to raise awareness of the work done by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
