Street collections - Street collections

A collection of money or sale of articles for the benefit of charitable or other purposes would require a Permit. A Permit will be required only where the collection will take place in any street or public place. A Street Collection Permit would not therefore be required for a collection to be held, for example, inside a shop, a public house, in the foyer of a cinema or theatre.

It is the District Council’s Policy, under Finance Sub-Committee 10th June, 1992, (now Licensing Committee):-

Street Collections/Flag Days be authorised to take place on Saturdays only, collections on other days of the week be authorised only in exceptional circumstances or in consultation with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of this Sub-Committee.

To date Make a Wish has transformed the lives of more than 12,000 seriously ill children by turning their One Time Wish into reality. (Home Office Exempt).

RECYCLING CLOTHES COMPANY (RCC) collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of AGAINST BREAST CANCER to fund ground breaking research to improve detection and increase survival after breast cancer diagnosis and focusing on new ways that could help doctors identify and treat secondary breast cancer earlier, faster and more effectively. (Home Office Exempt).

Saturday 1st June 2019 - Monday 1st June 2020
SOS CLOTHES collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of TREE OF HOPE which is a crowdfunding charity that helps children and young people with a disability or illness by supporting their families to raise the money they need to pay for specialist care that is not freely available through the UK healthcare care system. Tree of Hope supports families to fundraise towards these costs. (Home Office Exempt).

CLOTHES AID collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of NSPCC, the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK by helping children who have been abused, rebuilding their lives and by protecting those at risk by demanding that Laws are changed and actions taken to better protect them. (Home Office Exempt).

Monday 7th October 2019 – Friday 11th October 2019
UNICARE LTD fundraising on behalf of NORTH ENGLAND CHILDREN`S CANCER RESEARCH to help fund research at the newly opened Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research in Newcastle. Scientists there are currently working on clinical trials to develop new therapies and to discover a less aggressive medical approach to improve survival and treatment intensity for patients with childhood cancers from across the country.

SKYCYCLE LTD fundraising on behalf of NATIONAL BREAST CANCER HELPLINE
to raise funds to help promote training, education or general advice in all areas of hereditary breast cancer and help manage a 24 hour helpline to support women and their families affected by hereditary breast cancer.

Monday 21st October 2019 – Friday 25th October 2019
RECYCLING & MANAGEMENT SERVICES LTD on behalf of BEADS OF COURAGE UK (formerly Be Child Cancer Aware) to improve survival rates and quality of survival in young cancer patients, as well as finding new ways to prevent cancer in the future. Raising awareness of childhood cancer is so important today and for future generations.
