Priority 3 – Would enhance performance in the job but is not essential.
Qualifications
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy to include GCSE in English Language and Mathematics Grade C or above or equivalent. Priority 1
- Customer service qualification. Priority 2
- NVQ (3 or 4) in information, advice and guidance, or library qualification. Priority 3
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. Priority 1
- Relevant digital literacy skills and awareness and an ability to use online tools e.g. databases, CRM etc to access learning resources. Understanding of IT Network principles Priority 1
Experience
- Relevant experience and proven ability of front-line customer service responding to enquiries from the general public, ideally in a similar education environment. Priority 1.
- Administration experience. Priority 1
- Experience of supporting learners in a library, further education or higher education environment. Priority 3
Skills
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills with the ability to cope with a wide and diverse knowledge portfolio. Priority 1
- Good clerical / keyboard skills with a confident and professional telephone manner. Priority 1
- Strong organisational, interpersonal and co-operation skills essential to deal with a spectrum of centre users Priority 1
Personal attributes
- Flexible approach to range and type of work with good timekeeping and commitment to priorities. Priority 1
- Work outside core hours including evenings and weekends where required. Priority 1
- To act as cover for the other hub staff for holidays/ sickness etc. Priority 1
- Ability to interact with others using diplomacy and tact to relate well to people from a wide range of backgrounds. Priority 1
- Ability to work using own initiative and collaboratively as part of a team. Priority 1
- A smart and presentable appearance. To be able to respond positively and adapt to change. Priority 1
