Qualifications 

  1. Level 5 qualification in a relevant subject – Priority One
  2. Evidence of ongoing professional development – Priority One

Knowledge

  1. In depth technical knowledge of developing, managing, commissioning and procuring leisure services – Priority One
  2. In depth technical knowledge of developing, managing, commissioning and procuring leisure services – Priority One

Experience

  1. At least 3 years experience of successful management of staff and teams within a multi-discipline public sector or comparable environment. – Priority One
  2. Experience of procuring, managing and monitoring contracts and contractors and staff including addressing underperformance. – Priority One

Skills

  1. Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, elected members, stakeholders and the public, using discretion when dealing with contentious issues. – Priority One
  2. Ability to work effectively through complex multi-agency partnerships to achieve strategic objectives. – Priority One
  3. Ability to interpret complex and potentially contentious information and write clear concise reports for various audiences including councillors and senior managers. – Priority One
