Qualifications
- Level 5 qualification in a relevant subject – Priority One

Knowledge
- In depth technical knowledge of developing, managing, commissioning and procuring leisure services – Priority One

Experience
- At least 3 years experience of successful management of staff and teams within a multi-discipline public sector or comparable environment. – Priority One
- Experience of procuring, managing and monitoring contracts and contractors and staff including addressing underperformance. – Priority One
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, elected members, stakeholders and the public, using discretion when dealing with contentious issues. – Priority One
- Ability to work effectively through complex multi-agency partnerships to achieve strategic objectives. – Priority One
- Ability to interpret complex and potentially contentious information and write clear concise reports for various audiences including councillors and senior managers. – Priority One
