Job Title: Leisure Services Manager
Responsible To: Head of Neighbourhoods
Key Responsibilities
- To effectively monitor and manage performance of the contract for leisure services in line with Council policies and procedures, whilst maintaining a constructive working partnership.
- To lead on the strategic, operational and financial management of contract arrangements for the County PFI contracts, and other delivery contracts.
- To lead and manage staff within the service ensuring compliance with, and consistent application of policies, procedures and legislation particularly in relation to human resources, health & safety, equality of opportunity and data protection.
- To inspire, motivate and develop staff.
- To review and implement key strategic documents in relation to leisure, health & wellbeing and parks/open spaces. Ensuring that appropriate forward planning is undertaken to enable the Council to respond to changing circumstances.
- To support development and delivery of the Council’s health and community wellbeing action plan. Maintaining effective partnerships with external organisations and local communities in order to address health priorities and improve the leisure offer across the district.
- Effective budget and resource management across the service, including meeting monitoring deadlines, establishing new and increased sources of income and securing external funding for programme delivery and facility improvement.
- To work closely with the Council’s Corporate Communications team to respond to media enquiries and regularly promote new initiatives, facilities and service area achievements through a variety of channels to colleagues, members, residents and stakeholders.
- To champion innovation, improvement and development by driving forward business change and transformation, working with colleagues, members and external partners to improve service delivery performance and reduce carbon emissions.
The post holder will be employed under the NJC Conditions of Service.
