Job Purpose: System Administrator for council’s systems. Development, Implementation and supporting business ICT systems and digital services in line with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Administrator for Council’s system – support, enhancements, releases, day-to-day use of systems.
- To analyse user requirements for change and enhancements or implementations for business applications.
- Implement new software systems and enhancements to existing systems and play an active role within the relevant Organisational project team.
- To monitor agreed data integrity co-ordinating requests for access to systems within department procedures.
- To examine new releases, perform system integration and testing and present final results, document and obtain agreement and approval.
- To be responsible for application data management and data manipulation ensuring that business applications are available for staff and in an acceptable standard.
- Check testing results and user acceptance testing.
- To maintain and develop IT skills appropriate to the post, investigating new developments and opportunities to exploit changing technologies.
- To maintain accurate records of incidents, requests and keep accurate documentation on dealing with recurring issues to assist with the transfer of knowledge to Support Officers and good customer support.
- Be able to effectively communicate with new and existing suppliers to aid the smooth and reliable running of applications, systems and digital services.
The post holder is required to carry out any other duties appropriate for the grade and responsibility level of the post.
