Qualifications
- Degree, diploma or postgraduate qualification in Environmental Health (Priority 1)
- Registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (Priority 1)
Knowledge
- Is able to demonstrate good working knowledge of current relevant legislation and associated standards. (Priority 1)
Experience
- Demonstratable experience in the field of Neighbourhood nuisance and Environmental Crime including statutory nuisance and fly tipping. (Priority 1)
- Experience of undertaking service delivery in compliance with relevant legislation including health and safety and equality and diversity. (Priority 2)
- Familiarity with environmental health working procedures in relation to nuisance, environmental crime, noise, drainage and fly-tipping. (Priority 1)
- Understands issues of confidentiality, General Data Protection Regulations and the use of RIPA. (Priority 2)
Skills
- Able to conduct investigations and gather evidence in compliance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and other relevant legislation and guidance. (Priority 2)
- Can demonstrate the ability to work under pressure. (Priority 2)
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to staff at all levels within the Council and to be able to communicate effectively with outside bodies, members of the public and elected members. (Priority 2)
