Notice of Referendum

Cuckney, Norton, Holbeck and Welbeck Neighbourhood Plan Area 

Referendum on the adoption of the Cuckney, Norton, Holbeck and Welbeck Neighbourhood Plan.A referendum will be held on Thursday 8th September 2022 to decide on the Question below:

‘Do you want Bassetlaw District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Cuckney, Norton, Holbeck and Welbeck to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

Applications to be included on the register of electors for this election must be received no later than Monday 22nd August 2022.

New applications for, or amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of existing proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Bassetlaw District Council, Queen’s Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop S80 2AH by 5.00 pm Tuesday 23rd August 2022.

New applications to vote by proxy at this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Bassetlaw District Council, Queen’s Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop S80 2AH by 5.00 pm on Wednesday 31st August 2022.

Applications to vote by proxy at this referendum applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, or because of work/service reasons that occurred after 5 pm on Wednesday 31st August 2022 must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Bassetlaw District Council, Queen’s Buildings, Potter Street, Worksop S80 2AH by 5.00 pm on Thursday 8th September 2022.

 

Referendum Information Statement

A Referendum relating to the adoption of the Cuckney, Norton, Holbeck and Welbeck Neighbourhood Plan will be held on Thursday 8 September 2022.

The question that will be asked in the Referendum is:

“Do you want Bassetlaw District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Cuckney, Norton, Holbeck and Welbeck to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

The Referendum area is identified on the accompanying map.

The Referendum area is identical to the area which has been designated as the Cuckney, Norton, Holbeck and Welbeck Neighbourhood Area.

The Referendum will be conducted in accordance with procedures similar to those used at local government elections.

A person is entitled to vote in the Referendum if on 22nd August 2022:

  • he or she is entitled to vote in a local government election in the Referendum area; and
  • his or her qualifying address for the election is in the Referendum area. A person’s qualifying address is, in relation to a person registered in the register of electors, the address in respect of which he or she is entitled to be

The Referendum expenses limit that will apply in relation to the Referendum is £2387.08 The number of persons entitled to vote in the Referendum by reference to which that limit has been calculated is 425.

  • This Information Statement, and the map of the Neighbourhood Area;
  • Cuckney, Norton, Holbeck and Welbeck Neighbourhood Development Plan (the Neighbourhood Plan);
  • Report of the Independent Examiner;
  • Summary of the representations submitted to the Independent Examiner;
  • Statement by the Local Planning Authority that the draft plan meets the basic conditions and complies with the relevant legislation;
  • A statement that sets out general information about town and country planning including neighbourhood planning and the referendum; and
  • Decision
