Pringles tubes, coffee and hot chocolate containers

Bassetlaw District Council, in partnership with the Alliance for Beverage Cartons & the Environment (ACE UK), has launched a new recycling service for paper containers with metal ends, such as Pringles tubes, hot chocolate, nuts and other products.

Local residents can now recycle their containers alongside food and drink cartons at specialist bring banks located at:

  • Town Hall, Scrooby Road, Harworth
  • New Street Car Park, Retford
  • Newgate Street, Worksop

The new service is the result of an agreement between ACE UK, which operates the dedicated food and drink carton recycling service and packaging manufacturer Sonoco Consumer Products Europe.

This means that the items can be deposited at the sites instead of being placed in the green general waste bin at home.

Terracycle

Do you have a “hard to recycle” item that you really want to do something with other than put it into your green bin?

Have a look at TerraCycle and see if there is a collection locally.  If not, why not set one up and do something good for the environment?

Schools can use TerraCycle too to encourage children to recycle items that are difficult to recycle at home. Register the school and let your students and parents know that the school is recycling these specific items.

Podback

Did you know that your used coffee pods can be recycled?

Podback is the coffee pod recycling service. They offer a service which gives people who enjoy the quality and taste of coffee pods a simple and easy way to recycle them.

We know that everyone wants to do the right thing and recycle as much as possible. That's why the biggest names in coffee pod systems, Nespresso, NESCAFE Dolce Gusto and Tassimo, came together to create Podback.

It's simple, just order a bag to come to your home, fill it up and send it back via one of the drop-off points available near to where you live.

Find out more information and how you can recycle your coffee pods by visiting Podback.
