Bassetlaw Arts Festival 2009 4th - 19th July 2009

The ‘Fabulous Arts in
Bassetlaw' (FaiB) festival will take place for a second year,
from 4th to 19th July across the District.
Some of the many FAiB activities already
confirmed include a production of ‘West Side Story’ at the Majestic
and a performance by ‘Black Umfolosi 5’ – a world famous Zimbabwean
song and dance group – at the Acorn Theatre.
Eloise Short
Quartet will also be performing at Worksop Town Hall
on 4th July. Eloise Short has been singing in live bands
around Sheffield, the UK and the World for over seven years. At
twenty-six she finds herself enjoying a more mellow type of music
and as well as writing her own songs, has a passion for jazz.
You can buy tickets to see ESQ from Worksop Tourist Information
Centre – 01909 501148.

Conservation Area Appraisal
In February 2009 Bassetlaw District Council designated Old
Gateford Conservation Area. The Council has undertaken a detailed
survey of the conservation area, which has been drafted into a
document called a Conservation Area Appraisal.
This document discusses what is special about the conservation
area and what should be done to preserve or enhance its character
and appearance.
The Council is inviting you to view and comment on the draft
Appraisal.
