Bulky waste collections - Bulky waste collections

Residents can use our bulky waste service to take away large unwanted items like old sofas, wardrobes, mattresses and fridges and freezers.

By using the Council’s service you can book your appointment online, have the items collected from your door and also have the peace of mind that the items will be recycled where possible.

Below you will find a list of what we are able to collect and our pricing structure.

As part of this service, we are also able to collect a contaminated Blue Bin, an additional household waste bin, or up to six refuse sacks of household waste.

Please note the following:

Bulky waste will only be collected if there are NO persons at the property self-isolating due to the symptoms of COVID-19.  If anyone is self-isolating, please contact us after this period has ended.

The following guidance MUST be followed:-

  • In the “date available box” on the collection details page, please ensure you put the date of booking and immediately place the bulky items out to the front of your property on either your garden or driveway.
  • Collection will then take place a MINIMUM of 72 hours after the items are placed outside and up to a maximum of 7-10 working days.

In addition to the weekly collection of wheeled bins, we also provide a chargeable service, from domestic properties only, to enable you to dispose of those items that are too large to go in your wheeled bin.

The charges are:

  • £13 for the first item them £9.50 for each subsequent item thereafter
