The Chairman's statement on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
This morning, Vice Chairman of Bassetlaw District Council, Cllr Gillian Freeman placed floral tributes in Worksop and Retford as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The local Proclamation will take place this Sunday (11 September) from 3.00pm in both Retford and Worksop.
A Commemorative Service for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be held at the Priory of Our Lady and St Cuthbert in Worksop on Sunday 18th September from 6:00pm.
There will be no refuse collections on Monday 19 September, the date of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral, which will be a national bank holiday.
Bassetlaw District Council has launched a second Council Tax Energy Rebate Scheme that will enable hundreds of residents who were not previously eligible to claim £150 to cover rising fuel bills.

Bassetlaw District Council leaders have submitted a comprehensive report to the owners of Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) which highlights that while there could be wide-reaching implications for our whole community should the airport close, there are a wide range of opportunities still to be pursued by the Airport which could help to protect DSA for future generations.
