Since we started to make payments as part of the Government's Council Tax Rebate scheme, we have paid £150 into the bank accounts of 30,420 Bassetlaw households, totalling £4,563,000. (Up to 20/02/2022)
We continue to work through those households who pay by Direct Debit, which is approximately 70% of Bassetlaw Council Tax Payers.
Batches of payments are being processed throughout May and residents are reminded to check their statements for a reference of BDC ENERGY REBATE. Please do not contact us if you do not receive your payment immediately.
People who do not pay by Direct Debit will receive a letter that provides instructions on claiming the rebate, in addition to a unique verification code for security purposes.
Please be aware that only one person who is liable for Council Tax on 1st April 2022 and is still resident may claim the rebate on behalf of the whole household. The Council will not contact anybody directly to ask for bank details. Please be alert to scams.
