Community grant helps bowling club

Members of the Flat Green Bowling Club at Worksop Cricket and Sports Club have benefited from a donation of £350, thanks to grants from Councillors at the Council.

The money will be put towards purchasing safety nets between the cricket and the bowls area of the club.

Club Secretary at WCSC Flat Green Bowling Club, Joe Barratt said: “We would like to thank the Councillors for their generous donation. It is important that members of the club feel safe when they are bowling and these nets will ensure this now happens.”

Cllr Julie Leigh, Ward Member for Worksop South, who presented the cheque, said: “Councillor grants are a wonderful way of making a difference in our local communities and mean we are able to help local groups with any projects or make any necessary improvements.”

The funds were donated to the club as part of Councillor Community Grants from Cllr Cliff Entwistle, Cllr Julie Leigh, Cllr Alan Rhodes and Cllr Jo White.
