Bassetlaw Residents can now expect further shopping opportunities as the popular Farmers' Market and the Antique and Collectibles Market return to Retford.
Shoppers will be able to buy a variety of locally sourced produce from traders including Redhill Butchers, Tuxford Windmill and Goachers, who will be selling their goods on Retford Market Square beginning Saturday 18 July 2020.
The Farmers' Market stalls with red and white canopies will stand outside Retford Town Hall between 8:30am and 2:00pm. A range of local products will be available, including fresh fruit and vegetables, jams, meat, honey, ice creams and dairy produce. The Retford Farmers' Market takes place on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
Visitors will also be able to browse an assortment of books, toys, pottery, glass, rugs and much more at the Antique and Collectibles Market on Friday 17 July 2020 with the market operating between 7:00am and 2:30pm.
A number of measures have been put into place to ensure the safety of shoppers, including the relocation of the Farmer’s Market from its’ usual spot to allow for adequate social distancing to take place.
Cllr Jo White, Cabinet Member for Regeneration said:
“The farmers' market is making a welcome return to Retford and will be running on the third Saturday of every month. Due to Covid guidelines we have had to move stalls on to the market square, but we will still have the same quality traders with local fresh produce.”
