Get involved in Bassetlaw Spring Clean

This year we are once again calling on the #LitterHeroes of Bassetlaw to take action to improve their neighbourhood by joining in our Spring Clean for 2020.

Every year we support the Great British Spring Clean organised by Keep Britain Tidy and we will be running ours from 27 April – 10 May 2020. It doesn’t matter if you are a band of volunteers or you just want to get out there on your own, Bassetlaw District Council can help you with your litter-picking event.

You can donate as much of your time as you wish, from an hour to a full day or more! Simply tell us where your litter pick will take place and the Council will provide you with bags, gloves, litter pickers and high-viz vests. Once you have finished your litter pick, we will arrange a convenient time to collect the bags of rubbish from a pre-arranged location.

Cllr Julie Leigh, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods at Bassetlaw District Council said: “We have always had an amazing response from residents, schools and community groups taking part in our Spring Cleans in the past and we want this year to be no exception. It is important that we all get involved and help keep our communities, streets and parks clear of litter.

“We want to encourage anyone looking to organise a Spring Clean, either during our event, or any other time of the year, to let us know where in the district you plan to get involved and register via our website.”

To be part of this year’s event, please register your Spring Clean with the Council at and we will arrange for the equipment to be sent out to you in time for your litter pick.

If you are a school and you are interested in taking part in our Spring Clean event, you can register on our website at and click the ‘Register a school for the Bassetlaw Spring Clean’ button.

Please allow approximately three weeks’ notice for equipment to be delivered.
