Brave Bassetlaw business people and entrepreneurs have already begun to state their cases for a chance to step into the Dragons’ Den and claim a £5,000 prize.
The Council, supported by North Notts BID, is once again hosting a Dragons’ Den style event in March and applications from all types of businesses and entrepreneurs are rolling in ahead of the deadline of 5pm on Friday 15th February.
Three candidates will eventually be selected to go in front of our Dragons and a live audience on 6th March 2019 where they will be asked to pitch their innovative idea or a new product.
Cllr Jo White, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is just starting out in the world of business or for a company that has hit on the next big idea and needs a cash boost.
“We’ve already had lots of support from the local business community and hope to find three outstanding candidates who can pitch their ideas to our band of Dragons.”
The successful companies who make it through to the final stage will be required to pitch their idea, make a creative presentation and field questions from the Dragons, who are successful business leaders from across Bassetlaw.
Our Dragons this year are:
Susan Hale – Local entrepreneur and founder of the award-winning Grafton Brewing Company, La Roca Coffee and Tapas Bars, as well as being a national Real Ale judge.
Amanda Legate – Managing Partner of accountancy practitioners RAL Associates, who specialise in working with and providing advice to SME businesses.
Steve Bennett – Founder and Director of traffic management, labour and equipment supplier, Traffic Labour Supplies Ltd. Chair of North Notts BID.
Jo White – Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economic Development at Bassetlaw District Council.
The Council is inviting applications from all types of businesses or entrepreneurs who are based in Bassetlaw and have less than 50 employees. Applications should be submitted by 5pm on Friday 15th February 2019, with the event due to take place on Wednesday 6th March at Worksop Town Hall.
