Residents who are subscribed to Bassetlaw District Council’s Garden Waste Collection Service have just two collections remaining before the end of the 2021 season.
Collections are set to end on 3 December 2021. You can find the dates of your final collections on the Council’s website, where you can also re-subscribe or sign-up for next years’ service.
To ensure that you receive a full season of fortnightly Garden Waste collections between March and November 2022 residents are encouraged to sign-up before the end of January.
Cllr Julie Leigh, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods at Bassetlaw District Council said: “Each year we see an increase in the number of people using the Council’s Garden Waste Collection Service and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the service by subscribing. Everyone using the service is making an environmentally friendly choice and contributing to the amount of waste that can be recycled in Bassetlaw.”
So far this year a total of 11,913 households have signed up to the service, helping to boost the amount of waste recycled in the district.
Cllr Leigh added: “We hope that even more people will choose to use the service in 2022 and enjoy the convenience of having garden waste collected from the kerbside instead of needing to visit a recycling centre to discard of garden waste.”
This year’s subscription has been increased slightly to £33 due to the increased costs of providing the Garden Waste Service and so that more investment can be made to improve the service.
This fee includes the use of a 240 litre wheelie bin per subscription, in which you’ll be able to place grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, leaves, small branches and twigs, dead plants, weeds and flowers.
The quickest and easiest way to renew your subscription is by visiting the Garden Waste page on the Bassetlaw District Council website, www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/gardenwaste. Alternatively, call 01909 534524.
