Worksop had almost TWICE the average monthly rain fall in just 3 hours on Tuesday, causing massive surface water flooding across the town.
The clean-up is well under way and skips are being provided for residents needing to dispose of flood damaged items. Requests can be made via Customer Services on 01909 533 533. Residents are advised to check with their insurance companies before disposing of any items.
Our Housing Team were down at Sandy Lane and Godfreys Court yesterday, carrying out door to door checks, inspecting properties and assisting residents. Our electricians have attended 34 properties to make safe electrics and our bricklayers have attended 28 roof leaks. A further 17 roof leaks are being dealt with by external contractors.
Our Road and Street Sweepers have been out and we have swept a number of areas at the request of VIA East Midlands, prior to gulley and drain clearance. Please note, the sweepers role is to remove debris and detritus, some staining will remain, but this will weather off over time.

Godfreys Court – A skip will remain on site until Friday and the area will also be swept to remove debris.
