Bassetlaw District Council is now offering face-to-face appointments for a select number of services at its buildings in Worksop and Retford.
Queen’s Buildings in Worksop and the One-Stop-Shop in Retford are now welcoming customers on an appointment only basis, which must be booked in advance.
Residents can still access the majority of Council services via the website and over the phone, but customers can now request a face-to-face appointment in a Covid Secure environment for the following services:
- Benefits and Money advice
- Housing Needs and Homelessness
- New Council Housing Tenancy Sign-ups
- Housing and Rent Officer Surgeries
- Fraud Investigation Interviews
You can book an appointment Monday to Friday between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm by calling 01909 533 533 and asking for the service you require. Residents who attend any Council buildings without an appointment will not be admitted.
Cllr Kevin Dukes, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services, said: “As the restrictions to reduce the spread of Coronavirus are being gradually lifted, we are now pleased to offer face-to-face appointments for our customers who may not be able to access some of our services online or over the phone.
“Council Officers have worked extremely hard to ensure that we continue to provide essential services during what has been an extremely difficult and testing period. It is vital that we are able to offer our services to those most in need and this development is just one of the ways that we are starting to adapt our services to a new normal in a phased way.”
The Council has introduced a number of safety precautions for visitors and staff as part of this appointment system.
Prior to your appointment, one of our Customer Services Advisors will contact you and go through some screening questions.
Please wear a face mask during your visit and use the hand sanitiser stations throughout the buildings. We will also retain your contact details for Test and Trace purposes. If your appointment is at Worksop, please enter at the rear of the building via the Courtyard as we have a one-way system in place.
