We’re working hard to help communities clean up following the flooding in areas of Bassetlaw over the weekend, and today we have started to clear away items damaged by floodwater, and clean streets of detritus and debris.
This has been taking place in Worksop, including removing items outside properties on Central Avenue, King Street, Allan Street, Hardy Street and Priorswell Road.
Should you have any flood-damaged items, please do not dispose of these until you have spoken to your insurance company or an assessor.
If you need assistance, please speak to one of our crews or leave your flood damaged items outside your property. We will not take any items from within your property boundaries.
If you do wish to remove items from your property, please separate soft furnishings, such as sofas, chairs, cushions, etc. as these will be disposed of separately. Please take care not to block any gullies or drains with items.
Please also wear waterproof gloves and clothing when handling flood-damaged items as this may be contaminated with waste.
We are getting a number of requests for skips and street cleaning and will support all communities as soon as we are able to. This process will be managed carefully and we aim to ensure that our clean-up operation is thorough and comprehensive.
Should you require support in your area, and to notify us of flood damaged items outside of your property that need to be removed, please contact our Customer Services Team on 01909 533 533, weekdays between 9am and 5pm.
Two flood warnings remain in place for Retford due to rainfall that is expected in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Please continue to take care and continue to follow the flood warning advice from the Environment Agency, in addition to weather warnings that are in place.

As a result of these warnings, it is anticipated that the clean-up operation in Retford will commence when there is no further danger of flooding.
We are currently assessing the areas that need assistance and will commence a recovery plan as soon as we are able to.
Residents in our communities that have suffered flooding in the last few days and who need any support in relation to the removal of flood damaged items, in addition to the cleaning of streets, can contact us on 01909 533 533, weekdays between 9am and 5pm.
