Flooding Update
Amber and yellow weather warnings are in place for Nottinghamshire and Nottingham because of Storm Babet.
Persistent and heavy rain has led to flooding and is likely to continue into Saturday and Sunday. 40 flood warnings are already in place with disruption to the road networks, buses, and trains.
Homes and businesses near the River Trent
The Environment Agency are actively monitoring levels on the River Trent and advise it is highly likely that levels will peak, and more areas will flood. The timings are not confirmed but are likely to be rising through Saturday night and into Sunday.
If you live in an area that has experienced flooding in the past, or near to areas that have flooded, please prepare. There is a chance that flooding may expand to neighbouring properties that have previously been unaffected. Homes and businesses near the River Idle
Levels on the River Idle remain high. However, direct action from the Environment Agency and Emergency Services is being taken to mitigate this and reduce the risk of flooding.
Local partners are working together to provide emergency support and help where needed and are urging the public to stay safe and help keep the level of disruption to a minimum.

If there is an immediate risk to life or health, contact the emergency services, call 999.

- Only travel if necessary
- Don’t ignore a flood warning or a road closure sign
- Give yourself plenty of time for your journey and always have a second route planned
- If you must drive:
- never drive into flood water, 30 mm (1 inch) of water is enough to cause a vehicle to float and drift
- slow down and leave plenty of room between you and the car in front
- use your headlights if visibility is poor
- Do not to enter flood water in case of hidden hazards such as lifted manhole covers.
- River flooding is possible so stay away from swollen rivers.
