Street collections - Street collections

A collection of money or sale of articles for the benefit of charitable or other purposes would require a Permit. A Permit will be required only where the collection will take place in any street or public place. A Street Collection Permit would not therefore be required for a collection to be held, for example, inside a shop, a public house, in the foyer of a cinema or theatre.

It is the District Council’s Policy, under Finance Sub-Committee 10th June, 1992, (now Licensing Committee):-

Street Collections/Flag Days be authorised to take place on Saturdays only, collections on other days of the week be authorised only in exceptional circumstances or in consultation with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of this Sub-Committee.

CLOTHES AID (SERVICES) LTD collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION an organization which was formed in the UK in 1986 to grant life changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. To date Make a Wish has transformed the lives of more than 12,000 seriously ill children by turning their One Time Wish into reality. (Home Office Exempt).

RECYCLING CLOTHES COMPANY (RCC) collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of AGAINST BREAST CANCER to fund ground breaking research to improve detection and increase survival after breast cancer diagnosis and focusing on new ways that could help doctors identify and treat secondary breast cancer earlier, faster and more effectively. (Home Office Exempt).

UNICARE LTD collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of NORTH OF ENGLAND CHILDREN’S CANCER RESEACH. To help fund research at the newly opened Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research in Newcastle where Scientists are currently working on clinical trials to develop new therapies and to discover a less aggressive medical approach to improve survival rates and treatment intensity for patients with childhood cancers from across the country.

RECYCLING AND MANAGMEN SERVICES LTD collecting throughout Bassetlaw on behalf of BEADS OF COURAGE UK (formerly Be Child Cancer Aware) which is dedicated to raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer in children and teenagers in order to help families receive the earliest possible diagnosis of childhood cancer and increase survival rates. The Charity also raises awareness and supports many other childhood chronic and life limiting conditions.

Direct Debit Mandate Authorisations

SHELTER collecting throughout the postcode areas of DN11 and NG22 for the collection of Direct Debit Mandate Authorisations only. Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness by offering advice, providing support services and free legal advice across the UK and are open 365 days a year. (Home Office Exempt).
