Preparing a flood plan - Write a flood plan

Flooding often happens quickly and unexpectedly. Preparing an Emergency Flood Plan will help you through a very difficult situation if you are living in an “at risk” area.

Write a flood plan

The Environment Agency has an online tool to help you draw-up a flood plan to detail what you need to do if your property floods. This will help reduce damage to your property and will ensure that you and your family are prepared for flooding.

Some Suggestions For Inclusion In An Emergency Flood Plan

Useful Contact

Have to hand a list of Useful Contact Numbers. For example, your Insurance company, children’s school, GP surgery, carers etc.

Children’s Essentials

Make a list of essential items you will need for your child such as milk, sterilized bottles, nappies, baby food, wipes, Favourite toy etc.

Do you or any of your family require a supply of Medication?

Valuables, Sentimental items or Important Documents

Store these on upper floors or high places less likely to be affected by flood water.
