Business Recovery Grant
The Government is providing a grant of up to £2,500 for small and medium-sized businesses that have suffered severe impacts from the floods that cannot be recovered from insurance. Applications are being administered by Nottinghamshire County Council.
Nottinghamshire County Council’s emergency payment of £300. This payment is for Small or micro businesses with up to 49 employees, whose premises were flooded to help them cope with immediate, short-term loss of income. To apply please phone Nottinghamshire County Council’s Contact Centre on 0300 500 8080 between 8am-6pm Monday to Friday.
Assistance to find temporary commercial premises while remedial works is carried out. The Economic Development Team hold a list of available property and are happy to help to put you in touch with property owners.
Insuring your property and contents for flood damage is difficult. The East Midlands Chamber of Commerce is offering one-year free Chamber membership for any current non-members that have been affected by flooding. There is access to the insurance cover via their membership that you might want to explore.

If you pay business rates, there is a minimum of three months of 100% relief from business rates, or longer if you are unable to resume trading from your property. The relief provided will be subject to state aid limits, and will only be available to properties with a rateable value less than £10m. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has extended its Farming Recovery Fund to support farmers badly affected by the recent flooding.
