Inspection processes

Electors will need to show photo ID to vote at polling stations in the Combined County Authority Mayoral and Police and Crime Commissioner elections taking place on 2 May 2024. Click on this message to find out more about accepted forms of photo ID on the Electoral Commission website.

Authorised Officers of the Local Authority carry out periodic inspections of permitted processes to ensure they are complying with the conditions of the permit.

A risk assessment is carried out, the outcome of which determines the frequency of subsequent inspections:

High Risk - 3 per year
Medium Risk - 2 per year
Low Risk - 1 per year
