About Me:

I have been a councillor since 2012 and have been proud to serve as Deputy Leader of Bassetlaw Council since 2015.

In 2013 I was appointed Cabinet member for Economic Development.  This is a wide-ranging portfolio where I have steered through the council's major economic development projects.  It began with the launch of the council’s place making initiative and has since included the establishment of the Council’s Growth and Investment Team, the prioritisation of Mayflower Pilgrim activities, supporting new and emerging businesses, backing the progression of funding bids, prioritising strategies that promote employment, jobs growth and skills development, ensuring that we are responsive to business enquiries and working to establish stronger relationships with our Local Enterprise Partnerships.  I also have a strong commitment to making sure that our emerging Local Plan reflects local ambitions and needs.  More recently, I have led on developing proposals that have the potential to turn around our town centres.

I come from a family of NHS workers and the commitment to serve is in our blood.  My mother was a midwife and my three sisters are trained nurses whilst my brother is a care worker.  My identical twin is also a councillor in South Wales and my husband is Bassetlaw MP, John Mann.  We have three grown up children and two grandchildren.
