Worksop Together Board

Worksop has retained its £20million Government funding, first announced under the previous government’s Long-Term Plan for Towns. The Long-Term Plan for Towns has now changed to Pride in Place.

Under the Government’s new Pride in Place Programme, residents, businesses and stakeholders will be put in charge of how the money is spent to create thriving places and stronger communities.

The Worksop Together Board has been formed to help decide where this funding is spent, create new opportunities, boost growth and address local issues over the next 10 years. The group will bring together residents, businesses and organisations (both local and national), and health and community leaders, and will build on previous public consultation to put together a refreshed Vision for the area. They will also work in partnership with Bassetlaw District Council to develop a Regeneration Plan for the next 10 years, alongside a detailed Investment Plan for the first four years.

It will look at three objectives:

  • Thriving places,
  • Stronger communities, and
  • Taking back control.
