Public Rights of Way

A public right of way means that anyone may pass or re-pass along a right of way at any time.  They provide a route into the countryside and around towns.

The rights of way are signposted from a highway and often waymarked to show the route.  Rights of way are marked in different ways depending on the route.  Footpaths are marked with yellow arrows, Bridleways are marked with blue arrows , Restricted byways marked with plum coloured arrows and Byways are marked with red arrows.

Nottinghamshire County Council are responsible for the Public Rights of Way within Bassetlaw.  Visit their Public Rights of Way page for more information.
