Bassetlaw offers a wide range of sporting, leisure and culture facilities within the district.

Leisure Centres

There are three leisure centres, Worksop, Retford and Bircotes (which are run on behalf of the Council by Barnsley Premier Leisure -BPL) and a municipal golf course, Kilton Forest Golf Club (also run by BPL).

Sports Development

We have a sports development team who deliver an excellent standard of service that will create opportunities through sport and physical activity to improve the health and well being of all residents in Bassetlaw.

Arts and Entertainment

The Council have a Fabulous Arts in Bassetlaw website, where activities from local artists, organisations and schools promote and inform about activities which are happening throughout the year.

Bassetlaw Museum

Bassetlaw Museum which has a large collection of items including local history, archaeology, decorative and fine art, agricultural, costume and textiles on display.  Situated in Retford and in an 18th century town house.

Parks and Open Spaces

Our parks and open spaces department are responsible some of the parks, gardens, allotments, children's play area and bowling greens across the district.
