The Local Development Framework

Public Notice

Due to an error in printing, the incorrect inset maps for both Retford and Worksop were included in the recently publicised Preferred Options consultation document. This is to notify you that they have now been changed, with the inclusion of Primary Shopping Areas for both town centres. As a result of this error we will, therefore, be happy to receive comments on this aspect of the Preferred Options document for a further two weeks beyond the original closing date of 21st June. The consultation will now close on the 21st June 2010.

Planning the Future of Bassetlaw

The Local Development Framework (LDF) is the term used to describe the set of planning documents that will become the comprehensive spatial planning guide for Bassetlaw. Once adopted, these documents will supersede the Local Plan that was approved in 2001.

LDFs are intended to deliver sustainable development, while reflecting the needs and ambitions of local communities. They aim to integrate policies for the development and use of land with other policies and programmes that influence the nature of places and how they can function.

LDF documents are also subject to a Sustainability Appraisal to ensure that the economic, environmental and social effects of the plan are in line with sustainable development targets.

Local Development Framework documents available to view online, are as follows:
