Wetside Courses
There a number of wetside courses available at the Centre,
however, waiting lists may apply for all of these courses.
Times for courses are age and ability dependent. Please
enquire at the reception for further information.
Tadpoles Swimming Lessons
Parents can bring their baby or toddler to this
daytime swimming course and joint in the fun. Great for
building water confidence. 8-10 week courses - Mondays,
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - age 4 months to 4 and a half
years.
Junior Swimming Lessons
Part of the Swim Bassetlaw Programme these
lessons are fantastic to develop all strokes and work to achieve
badges. Swimmers may have the chance to progress through to
the Bassetlaw Swim Squad. Available every day.
Adult Swimming Lessons
A great way to build water confidence or just
develop swimming strokes.
School Holidays
Please note that during school holidays that
weekday daytime sessions may change slightly. Please
check before you visit.
Free Swimming
What is it?
The free swimming initiative is part of a national campaign to
promote swimming, general fitness, more active lifestyles and
well-being. Free swimming is a major part of the government’s
Legacy Action Plan aiming to use the London 2012 Olympic and
Paralympic Games to inspire the nation to exercise.
When is it?
The Bassetlaw Free Swim scheme is a two year fixed term
initiative starting April 1, 2009 and finishes on March 31,
2011.
How can I take part?
Everyone who is 16 and under or over 60 wishing to participate
in the free swim initiative is required to hold a Bassetlaw Active
Card. Anyone wishing to register for a card must bring ID (for
example birth certificate, passport, etc) to any of your Bassetlaw
District Council Leisure Centres.
What do I do next?
Once registered simply present your Bassetlaw Active Card to
reception at any of the leisure centres in Bassetlaw during any
public swimming session.
What’s not included?
There are a number of sessions not covered by the Bassetlaw Free
Swim Initiatve, these include: Swimming Lessons, Aquafit/Coached
Activities and Family Fun Swim. Normal terms and conditions
including admission policy and call out proceedures apply.
