Bircotes Leisure Centre
Bircotes Leisure Centre is a joint use facilities in the
District of Bassetlaw. The Centre was constructed by
Nottinghamshire County Council and opened in 1976.
The Centre has an excellent reputation for sports based courses
for for children. These include; swimming, gymnastics,
trampolining, Gym Tots, dance, football, junior squash and
badminton. The Centre plays a major role in the community by
working in partnership and providing free or discounted use for
several charitable enterprises, including the Youth Centre and the
Kipper Club (a local disabled group).
Bircotes is very much a community based Leisure Centre and has a
loyal following of customers, who like the friendly informal
atmosphere that the site provides. We have forged strong
links with the adjoining Bircotes and Harworth Community School and
also have close liaisons with the County Council run Youth Club,
which operates, from the site.
On average 14,000 people pass through our doors each year,
participating in a vast array of activities, many of them vital to
the health, well-being and social fabric of local life.
